Dr. Zutaah Puotier is a Ghanaian Mathematics educator, researcher, and academic leader whose career spans more than two decades of teaching, research, educational leadership, and community service. He is currently a Lecturer and Head of the Department of Mathematics and ICT at the Presbyterian College of Education, Akropong-Akuapem, Ghana, where he provides strategic leadership in mathematics and ICT education while mentoring future teachers and promoting excellence in teaching, research, and innovation.

Dr. Zutaah obtained his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mathematics Education from Kenyatta University, Nairobi, Kenya where his research focused on technology-enhanced mathematics instruction, particularly the use of GeoGebra to improve the teaching and learning of geometry among pre-service teachers. Prior to his doctoral studies, he earned a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Mathematics from the University of Education, Winneba, Ghana. He also holds a Teachers' Certificate (A) from the University of Cape Coast. To strengthen his professional competence, he completed international professional development programmes, including a Certificate in Global Social Justicein Mathematics Education from Purdue University, USA, and a Certificate in Online Design, Teaching and Learning from the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, Netherlands.

Throughout his professional career, Dr. Zutaah has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to quality education and teacher development. Since joining the Presbyterian College of Education in 2013, he has taught undergraduate mathematics courses, supervised research projects, developed curricula, and contributed significantly to academic quality assurance. As Head of Department, he oversees curriculum planning, staff development, departmental budgeting, resource management, student performance monitoring, and the integration of innovative technologies into teaching and learning. His leadership emphasizes academic excellence, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Beyond his primary appointment, Dr. Zutaah has served as a part-time lecturer at the University of Ghana, Kenyatta University, the University of Cape Coast College of Distance Education, and the University of Cape Coast Sandwich Programme. He has also taught at the senior high, junior high, and primary school levels, giving him extensive experience across the entire educational spectrum. This broad teaching background has enabled him to understand learners' developmental needs and to design effective instructional strategies that improve learning outcomes.

Dr. Zutaah's research interests include technology integration in mathematics education, GeoGebra applications, inclusive mathematics education, STEM education, competency-based curriculum, gender issues in mathematics education, and mathematics teacher education. He has published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, conference papers, and scholarly book chapters focusing on mathematics education, educational technology, and teacher preparation. His publications have appeared in respected international journals, while his doctoral work has contributed significantly to the growing body of knowledge on the integration of GeoGebra in mathematics classrooms. In addition to journal publications, he has co-authored a complete series of mathematics textbooks for Ghanaian basic schools, supporting the implementation of the national curriculum.

As an active scholar, Dr. Zutaah regularly presents research findings at international conferences across Africa and beyond. He has presented papers at prestigious conferences including the African Regional Congress of ICMI on Mathematics Education (AFRICME), the Strathmore International Mathematics Conference (SIMC), the COMSTEDA Conference, the Aga Khan University International Conference, and several international conferences organized by Kenyatta University and Mariano Marcos State University in the Philippines. His presentations have focused primarily on innovative mathematics instruction, GeoGebra integration, inclusive education, and teacher professional development. His scholarly contributions have earned him several recognitions and awards. Among these are the Best Presenter Award at the Mariano Marcos State University International Students Conference in 2023, the Best Teacher Award from the Presbyterian College of Education in 2015, a doctoral scholarship, research grants from the Presbyterian College of Education, and a bursary award to participate in the 7th African Regional Congress of ICMI on Mathematics Education (AFRICME 7) in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Dr. Zutaah is also widely recognized for his service to the academic community. He serves on several institutional committees, including the Academic Board, Research Committee, Budget Committee, and other strategic committees at the Presbyterian College of Education. Internationally, he is an active member of several professional organizations and research networks, including the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators (AMTE), African STEM Education and Development Consortium (A-STEM-EDC), TCC Africa Community, African Science Frontiers Initiatives (ASFI), Mathematics Teachers of Ghana (MAG), Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG), and the Circle of Fellows of the Ife Institute of Advanced Studies. He also serves as a reviewer for numerous reputable international journals and conferences, contributing to the advancement of quality educational research.

In addition to teaching and research, Dr. Zutaah has provided consultancy services and professional training on the integration of GeoGebra into mathematics instruction for universities and colleges of education in Ghana and Kenya. He has trained undergraduate, master's, Doctoral students, pre-service teachers, and in-service teachers on the effective use of educational technology to improve mathematics teaching and learning. His commitment to capacity building has positively influenced many educators and strengthened technology integration in mathematics classrooms.

Dr. Zutaah has also rendered extensive service to national education through his work as a West African Examinations Council (WAEC) examiner and team leader for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), as well as an examiner for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). He has supervised undergraduate, master's, and doctoral research, participated in curriculum development, and contributed to educational policy implementation through committee work and academic leadership.

His professional philosophy is grounded in the belief that every learner can succeed when provided with engaging instruction, appropriate support, and opportunities to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. He advocates for the effective integration of digital technologies, learner-centred pedagogies, and inclusive educational practices to improve mathematics achievement and prepare future teachers for twenty-first-century classrooms.

Outside his professional responsibilities, Dr. Zutaah enjoys mentoring young academics, participating in conferences and scholarly collaborations, gardening, sports, drawing, and painting. He remains committed to advancing mathematics education through teaching, research, academic leadership, and international collaboration, while continuing to contribute to the development of high-quality teacher education in Ghana and across Africa.
